Antibiotics: Mechanisms of Action

Antibiotics.jpeg

This week’s #micromeded is meant to help with the mechanisms of action of the antibiotics. Though this infographic is very busy, it nicely organizes most of the important antibiotic classes including some research antibiotics and antibiotics still in development. Because there is so much in this figure, I don’t have much to say about it, but if you ever need a textbook resource for studying antibiotics and resistance, check out Antibiotics: Actions, Origins, Resistance by Christopher Walsh—this textbook is short, thorough, and very useful. Hope this figure helps—see you next week!
