Objectives 

  • Describe normal histology and embryology of bone and cartilage

  • Distinguish various normal cellular components of bone and soft tissue, including (but not limited to) myofibroblasts, smooth muscle, tendon, and nerve

  • Distinguish a lipoblast from a pseudolipoblast and be able to correlate clinically regarding different types of soft tissue pathology (e.g., liposarcoma)
